We are political animals all. Even if we avoid newspapers
and turn a blind eye to news on the television and internet
and switch off radio reports, politics is in our American
blood. Every time we take a shower, use a highway, or shop,
we are caught up in the politics of the environment,
transportation, and commerce.
I thrive on politics in the broadest sense—the workings
of governments, the tension between the citizens and
elected officials, wars. As a writer who tries to tell the
truth through fiction, I watch, fascinated, as administrations
are caught in mischief and leaders, great and small, work to
shape the future. On this page I record my observations and
judgments. In politics more than any other discipline I'm
addicted to, response is paramount. Chafe your thoughts
against mine. Post a note on the "Leave a Message" page.
